From December on, #NS #Alstom #Coradia #ICNG (for #InterCity New Generation) units will provide fast hourly services between #Brussels 🇧🇪 and #Amsterdam 🇳🇱. They are currently performing test runs. (Trivia: the bathroom decor comes with a Belgian touch. Here: Zeebrugge beach.)

Leaving #Strasbourg 🇫🇷 on board an #SNCF #Alstom #Régiolis #Coradia Class #B83500 bi-mode unit.
A #TGV, still displaying the “logo escargot” (🐌), is right next to us and a Class #BB67400 diesel awaits further duties. Finally we pass the plinthed #TGV001 gas-turbine power car.

In February 2024 it was 6 months delay. Now it’s additionally 2 months.

Togpendlerne får et «etterlengtet løft» først i 2026.

Alstom sold Coradia iLint train-sets to Germany, and they are failing, a lot, drawing the ire of the authorities, who are now questioning the viability of the technologyas they scramble to fin replacement train-sets. #hydrogentrain #alstom #coradia

@chrisgerhard the train used is a 4 car #Alstom #Coradia Stream. The British Rail classes 175 ( #TfW ) and 180 ( #grandCentral ) are also Coradias. 180s are famous for catching fire a few times with past operators.

Traffic on #DB‘s 🇩🇪 #Hochrheinbahn east of #Basel🇨🇭on the north bank of the #Rhine river is pretty dense: stopping trains are mainly worked by class 644 #Talent and class 641 #Coradia units (similar to SNCF “A TER”). The line is not (yet) electrified.
