Flat dimpled copper rivets. I'm not sure what the purpose of the dimple was, but I think it may have been to strengthen the hold of the rivet. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

1910s Eureka waist overall -- back pocket (2)
The pocket opening is sewn with a single stitch, which was common on pre-1920s pants. The way the pocket opening is folded is characteristic; the two side seams of the pocket are folded in first, and then the pocket opening is folded twice, so that the fold shows from the side on the outside of the pocket. This has the advantage that the pocket entrance on the inside is very clean. The pocket corners are reinforced with exposed punch-through copper rivets.

The story of the rivets. Over 25 years ago I came across another lot of copper that was being sold as scrap. Couldn't believe my eyes when I looked closer -- they were actual copper rivets, and even better, they had "L.S.&CO.-S.F.-" on the back! Without hesitation I bought the hole lot! These, along with the selfmade burrs in my previous post, kept me going until I met @Kenji (http://www.citronjeans.com), the best small-lot seller of denim related hardware.
