1910s Eureka waist overall -- leather patch
The patch on this pair is cowhide leather stamped with oil-based black ink using a metal stamp.
This pair has only been soaked once, so the leather patch hasn't shrunk at all, but it has aged quite nicely simply by virtue of being almost 20 years old.
Depending on the material of the patch, I use a metal stamp (as on this pair), silk screen printing (especially on paper patches but also on leather), iron branding (particularly on thicker leather), and ink-jet printing (on cotton/linen patches).
