Dans la famille des tablettes antiques, je demande... (le fils ! Ah non zut c'est pas ce jeu là).

How to Write in Cuneiform, the Oldest Writing System in the World: A Short Introduction

Teaching child visitors how to write their names using an unfamiliar or antique alphabet is a favorite activity of museum educators, but Dr. Irving Finkel, a cuneiform expert who specializes in ancient Mesopotamian medicine and magic, has grander designs.

Oh, I have no problems at all with clay tablets! The physical resistance of the writing material helps in the learning process when taking notes. Sadly good clay tablets are hard to find nowadays, and expensive.

And I love Wikipedia. I was around when it started, and I never advised my students against it. Some of my colleagues did, but they were able and willing to learn.

Kill me! Kill me now!

(Yea, I know I've said that already. Just kill me again, okay?)

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society emailed me, reminding me that I need to get the diagnosis form completed. They attached the form to their email.

Those bozos still got the fax number wrong. 111-111-1111 is bullshit that I entered to get past the stupid application software. They also got the zip wrong. This is *my* zip. Not the of the doctor's office in Baltimore. I cannot have entered that number as my doctor's zip, since my doctor's address was taken from a database. (It just lacked a fax number.)

(If you wonder why we're in this situation... that's because the way they operate, the fund to which I applied has limited money, and it is much more important to *GET IN* and then fix whatever issues there may be, than try to have everything perfect right off the bat. I did not know my doctor's fax number, so I entered 111-111-1111 to get my application in. It took me a few days to get the fax number, during that time the funds could have evaporated, and I could have been out of luck.

I called to fix the fax number... which they apparently did. My doctor has the form now. However, the fix they performed just changed which number they send the fax to, and not the field in the form.
