The humble forget-me-not self sets and appears each year at this time around TeePee Cidery. Its scienitific name is Myosotis arvensis a species of flowering plants in the family Boraginaceae from the Northern Hemisphere. At TeePee Cider we live on the Taratahi plains of the Wairarapa. This is an alluvial plain feed by braided rivers flowing from the Tararua ranges. Despite the cold weather some bulbs are appearing early in NZ this winter. Several friends around the motu are reporting it. This snowdrop growing in the gap in a brick border is in flower in orchard garden. Perhaps it the retained warm from the sunlight on the bricks.
