#today I did several hours of QA work for a new uni BA course (as one paticipant in a Teams meeting), which was pleasant and interesting, and I think that I managed to jam sustainability a bit more firmly into the new course! Tomorrow is meetings with friends but also I really really ought to do work on my #buildingModel and/or the #journal paper that I promised for the end of the month! Eeeek!
#today I am making a little progress on debugging my #buildingModel which includes learning how to do #pytest properly... #debugging #modelling
Oops, forgot about the #NewScientist article splurge... To be absorbed this evening and tomorrow am. Tonight I will send out the #inventorsClub email ... for which we seem to have at least 4 talks which is good! And I'm itching to get on with the #buildingModel tomorrow. And I may have set myself up to do a conference talk and a journal paper extending Monday's #PintOfScience idea!
#today really really should include some work on my #research #buildingModel - there is a risk that my repo will become self-aware and complete and publish itself as a paper in frustration waiting for me to just get on with it!
#today in at uni and, unusually, may try to actually get some of my #research #buildingModel work done today - there's some easy-ish clear next steps to take on the current model...

#today my latest 'clever' attempt to finesse how my MacBook Air interacts with my off-grid system didn't really work, though is marginally better than it was before:

I have #PhD supervision tomorrow. I have prepared the agenda. I really ought to do some of the #buildingModel stuff. Will probably take a walk shortly...

On Website Technicals (2026-04)

Tech updates: per-minute Eddi tweaks, Time Machine bug, virtual plug-in solar, merit order, intensity forecast, USB power wrangling, greed, BibTeX URLs...

#today I am testing my energy system changes, have a smallish (so far) slate of #NewScientist articles queued up on tabs, am just about to do the next poke at my #buildingModel #research stuff, will be on a NESO Grib Forming Webinar, then this evening off to central London with a friend.

#today I am not getting a #NewScientist splurge to read - what happened?

I am cheered in my #research by having just found that an apparent test error in the #buildingModel that I'm working on is apparently an error in the test itself, and the model is meeting expectations better than expected in this part! Hurrah!

#today did another tiny bit of #research #buildingModel stuff, joined a #Nesta Webinar, and worked with my mentee for a couple of hours on a #grant #application.
#today some life/academic admin including for #ReplicationGames, and for the inventors' club. And really really ought to inch some progress on my #research #buildingModel too!
