#today I must I must I must I must improve my paper (and try and get it to good draft stage, to share with supervisors). I will also be helping a friend with some legals, being a witness to a bit of admin. I also have a small wash of #NewScientist articles to read. Oh, and a bath, timed to help the grid!
I only just cleared my #NewScientist article/tab backlog! I may never again achieve #InboxZero but I can still just about manage #NewScientistZero!
#today I'm not even going to try working on my paper as am at a friend's party this afternoon, and have a huge #NewScientist article backlog glaring at me! House in heat lockdown, though probably not going to get to 30C...
@CA_Hawthorne that is apparently called "epic dreaming" see current #NewScientist
Oops, forgot about the #NewScientist article splurge... To be absorbed this evening and tomorrow am. Tonight I will send out the #inventorsClub email ... for which we seem to have at least 4 talks which is good! And I'm itching to get on with the #buildingModel tomorrow. And I may have set myself up to do a conference talk and a journal paper extending Monday's #PintOfScience idea!
🗿✨ Behold, the #revelation of an ancient #script that allegedly unveils the dawn of writing -- because apparently, everything you learned was wrong. 🧙‍♂️📜 New Scientist has cracked the code, or maybe just cracked, and now we're all supposed to be enlightened. ⚡️📚

A lost ancient script reveals how writing as we know it really began

A long-overlooked writing system from 5000 years ago is still largely undeciphered, but could mark the moment humans first represented their speech with written words

#today I will ride the #NewScientist article wave, (re!)read the constitution of an org that I chair and at least draft my rousing AGM speech and agenda, work on my research, and join a brainstorming session (or two) on-line...

I'd be unconvinced that I'd really managed any of the "retire early" thing except (ducks incoming rotten fruit, pitchforks, etc) that I'm only now considering getting out of bed to go work at my desk like a grown-up...

#today I am testing my energy system changes, have a smallish (so far) slate of #NewScientist articles queued up on tabs, am just about to do the next poke at my #buildingModel #research stuff, will be on a NESO Grib Forming Webinar, then this evening off to central London with a friend.
