#FairyTaleTuesday: `#Brigid grieved over the death of her son, Ruadán, as all mothers would do, but according to legend it was she who invented ‘the keen’ To keen is to mourn through song; it is the vocal lamentation of loss, and it is raw and powerful.` #Celtic

I'm told most Americans - even most Catholic Americans - don't know what a Brigid's Cross is. And I should be safe wearing it in public.

Yay for American ignorance?

I'd like to start wearing a Brigid's Cross pendant in public as a sign of devotion to my goddess.

I'm worried people will mistake me for a Catholic. Would that be a good thing or a bad thing in the age of Trump? Passing for a Christian is generally a good thing, but the Marjorie Taylor Greens of white Protestant Christianity consider Catholics little better than Satanists, and I could just wear an upside down cross as far as they're concerned.

#WyrdWednesday: #Brigid rules the summer months between Beltane and Samhain. Helmut Birkhan (`#Kelten`) sees in her cult a special form of #Celtic sun worship.
`She was patron of poetry and learning, of healing and of craftsmanship, and, as regards status, such was her prestige that her name could be used as a synonym for ‘goddess`.` #Celtic

#BookologyThursday: `There are many examples of the hare having connections with the #Otherworld in Irish mythology and folklore. Hares are associated with spring, thus with the Goddess of the season, and represented love, fertility and growth. In Ireland #Brigid is the Goddess of Spring.` #Celtic
