Our #transportation advisory: York School is off Highway 68, which we personally bike on frequently but as brief a distance as possible (high-speed traffic, no bike lane). Carpooling encouraged. (TMK, and it’s a Catch 22: Due to heavy traffic on CA SR 68, making it nearly impossible to keep to a schedule, it’s just not feasible for Monterey Salinas Transit to provide bus service.)

PWU has now filed 6 charges against the Sierra Club with NLRB in the past year; before the Ben Jealous era, PWU had only ever filed one. One charge is that Ben Jealous presented a plan to the board to break the union.

When Michael Brune was Sierra Club president, he participated in labor negotiations with a team made up mostly of long-time Sierra Club staff and volunteers.

Under Ben Jealous, Sierra Club's labor bargaining team is now mostly outside lawyers. And Jealous doesn't participate.
