This is not pumpernickle or chocolate bread. It's supposed to be a rustic white loaf. I have no idea what went wrong. It rose well, it was baked at the proper temp & for the proper amount of time. It's bad enough that it's semi-burnt, but if you dropped it off a roof, it would bounce into the next century. The "chew" is rubber. The crumb is nonexistent. It's as heavy as a curling stone. WTF?
