Our new Christmas tradition brought from travels far and away — the hot pot!
Two broths — Sichuan Red Ma La and Tomato — were the cooking mediums of choice.
Among the fixings, there were shrimp, lamb, pork belly, and sirloin, konjak bundles, fried bean curd, corn, spinach, broccoli, lotus root, spinach, broccoli, and various fish balls. Some radish and cucumbers to tame the heat in between bites.
And the best part of any hot pot extravaganza — the dipping sauce. It was an all-family excited effort to chop and prepare the components.
And we were stuffed!
