LA NOTIZIA: L’ottavo fronte di Netanyahu

L’ottavo fronte.
Errori. La parola arriva mentre l’analisi pubblicata ieri da Nove Colonne sui dati OHCHR rilanciati dall’ONU fissa le vittime accertate a 72.737. Mortalità del 3,46% sulla popolazione iniziale. L’80% non combattenti. Donne e minori il 70% dei decessi identificati. Feriti oltre 172.000. Operatori umanitari uccisi 560, i giornalisti 270.
Errori.

Netanyahu's eighth front

The Eighth Front. That’s how Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, defined social media Sunday evening in an interview with CBS’s “60 Minutes.” The front where Israel is fighting “with Polish cavalry against those who attack with F-35s.” The analogy is his, cited from the CBS transcript of May 10th: the reference is to the Polish defeat of September 1939.

Major Garrett asks him to account for the accusations of the International Criminal Court regarding war crimes in Gaza. The prime minister responds: “In war, armies sometimes make mistakes and civilians die. These are errors, not deliberate actions.” Errors. The word comes as the analysis published yesterday by Nove Colonne on data released by the UN from OHCHR sets the confirmed number of victims at 72,737. Mortality of 3.46% of the initial population. 80% non-combatants. Women and minors account for 70% of the identified deaths. Over 172,000 injured. Humanitarian workers killed 560, journalists 270.

Errors. Garrett shows the Pew poll: 60% of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Israel, twenty points higher than in four years. Netanyahu attributes the collapse “almost 100% to the geometric rise of social media.” Several countries, he says, “have manipulated social media. And this has seriously damaged us.”

The reversal is perfect. It counts the image of the body, the body itself counts for less. When the prime minister of a state under procedure before the International Court of Justice for what the Court defines as plausible genocide calls his isolation “the eighth front,” he is saying that the problem is the cameras. The rubble remains out of frame.

In Marmaris, the Global Sumud Flotilla closed its international assembly yesterday; Saif Abukeshek and Thiago Ávila, expelled Sunday by Israel as “professional provocateurs,” are the first front.

Before you continue to YouTube

Decided to check out Twitter to see for myself it being down. Then went to my profile and noticed something extremely odd. It thinks I have put my birthday slightly too far in the past. #almost100 I haven’t ever touched that part of the settings so it’s pretty wild
