According to multiple eyewitness accounts from inside Iran, the Islamic Republic has used indiscriminate and disproportionate force against peaceful protesters. The Sunday Times reports at least 16,500 killed, over 330,000 injured, and several tens of thousands arbitrarily detained. The UN Human Rights Council will hold a special session this Friday.

"国連人権高等弁務官事務所（OHCHR）は、スリランカ内戦下で発生した紛争関連性暴力の責任追及に関する新たな報告書を発表した。

報告書は、紛争関連の性的暴力行為が「情報を引き出し、支配を確立し、個人や地域社会に恐れを抱かせ、恐怖と屈辱がまん延する風潮を植え付ける戦略的手段として用いられた。制度的に可能となっていたこうした人権侵害は、紛争の影響下にある地域住民を集中的に標的にした」と指摘。そして「スリランカは、指揮権限を通じてこうした行為を命令し、支援し、防止を怠った者を含め、紛争下における性暴力のすべての加害者を訴追する義務を負う」と強調した。

この重要な報告書は、過去の国連調査の知見を基に、2009年の国内武力紛争終結後も続いた紛争関連性暴力の実態を明らかにしている。2024年というごく最近の報告事例も挙げられている。
