@empathicqubit What I did see are various confirmations of #US #embassy #staff being instructed to "seize" aka. steal #trans and #nonbinary peoples' #passport|s if it doesn't have their #AGAB and/or said AGAB is anything but male/female.

@digitalcourage warned about this for (almost) a decade and whilst in the #EU #PassengerRights state people can 'decline the #NakedScanners in lieu of a manual pat-down', #Australia and the #USA are known to demand that shite or refuse to let people board/disembark/enter at all.

• Not to mention the #US is literally threatening people for not having their #AGAB (and they only accept a binary AGAB, which isn't always the case!) at their passport with fraud charges, so either way, #Trans*, #Inter* and #Nonbinary people are completely "fucked" by that setup worse than most countries in #MENA (with known counter-cases!) cuz at least they don't give a damn about binary - passing folks.

The problem is that it's literally not legal or possible to have an AGAB passport for anyone who legally transitioned in places like #Germany as that violates existing laws.

• A person who legally transitioned is de-jure retroactively being the person they transitioned to. Past records get purged & replaced. The pre-transition person 'ceases to have existed legally' and outing someone as trans and deadnaming them is illegal!

And @Bundesregierung as well as @AuswaertigesAmt KNOW THAT and if they don't they really need to sit down with @antidiskriminierung and @lsvd and #dgti and others to get a quick rundown on the situation…
