Anything being #advertised on #YouTube would well be avoided.
#ClassAction #Lawsuit Claims #Revlon #MakeupRemover Pads, #Towelettes Falsely #Advertised as #Biodegradable
When the current storm
of which we had been forewarned
came in exactly as #advertised
all the feigned surprise
and hand wringing dramatics
was such a disingenuous exercise
to those of us in the knowing
which way
the fucking wind was blowing
Big Three #carriers pay $10M to settle claims of false “unlimited” #advertising
T-Mobile, #Verizon, and AT&T will pay a combined $10.2 million in a settlement with US states that alleged the carriers falsely #advertised #wireless plans as "unlimited" and phones as "free."
#unlimited #tmobile #att #fraud
> just a cost of doing business / drop in the bucket 👎😡
When 90+% of the #advertisers leave the site wot gets #advertised is not reaching many eyes, unless you are a bot, imo.
This happened on YouTube also when all the Nazi Propaganda kept showing up near major advertising and they promptly pulled their ad spend until YouTube cleaned up their act.
Same thing will/has/is happened/ing at the #DelistedTWTR / #OligarchBirdSite / #DeadFreeTWTR dumpster fire.
🔮 Prediction : At the current income to burn rate of 💸💸💸💸 outgoing to the ~1k employee / contractor 'hostages' the site will be dead in a few years anyways by the looks of things. 🔮
~50 billion to kill the site's usefulness is a bargain for the people behind wanting to kill the platform anyways.
#Pluralistic: Everything #advertised on #SocialMedia is overpriced junk (08 Apr 2023) – Pluralistic: Daily links from #CoryDoctorow
"Specifically, stuff that's pushed to you via #TargetedAds costs an average of 10 percent more, and it significantly more likely to come from a vendor with a poor rating from the #BetterBusinessBureau. This may seem trivial and obvious, but it's got profound implications for media, commercial surveillance, and the future of the #internet."

This thing is sometimes fucked up beyond repair:
Android 14 adds an "advertisedMem" value: is is the amount of memory (ram) #advertised to the user when he bought the device.
It can be completely different from "totalMem", the real #available #ram .
So we now can display a #fake #ram value because it was printed by a marketing guy on the box.
Great.

Lets see tomorrow if this is an April Fools.
