All this talk of a #LinuxPhone is wonderful. But it's going to be a long time before I can buy a phone from #TMobile or #BoostMobile that has #Phosh or #KDEMobile on it, and only takes a few steps to setup. So it would be nice to go to a phone store and get a #NothingPhone or a #JollaPhone like that. But it's not happening any time soon.

you guys remember the salt typhoon #salt #typhoon #hack #breech or whatever? there's one company out of all of them that I highly think have been breeched, even if it hasn't been published yet. I will explained in a minute of why this is.
equinix #equinix . more specifically, equinix fabric / #fabric . and here's why.
fabric is like a highway that connects the different major carriers. so #att , #verizon, #tmobile , all connected via this private network.
the problem is AT&T and Verizon say their core infrastructure. one part of their core infrastructure is the fabric network.

Hey #AskFedi / #HiveMind,

Anyone got any pointers for setting up #VisualVoicemail on #Android #AOSP or #LineageOS-derived dialers with #MintMobile, or #TMobile or other T-mobile #MVNOs?

I called the number, set up my PIN and greeting, but I just keep getting "Can't activate visual voicemail" in the dialer, even after going to Voicemail in the settings, turning off Visual voicemail, and turning it on again.

When I was on AT&T, it would occasionally be able to fetch the VMs, but often fail. I'm hoping it might work better with Mint/Tmo. XD

I'm on #IodéOS (based on Lineage).

Oh how disgusting, T-Mobile is testing an NVIDIA TX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPU attached to one of their cell towers to create something called, "Physical AI". They are also working with Nokia on attempting to execute this nightmare...Apparently, it's supposed to supercharge LLM systems, by increasing responsiveness and make them generally faster at performing tasks.

I really don't see the appeal because it would allow this malignant tumor given birth to by Silicon Valley and Peter Thiel's machinations access to critical infrastructure. Which is honestly terrifying, giving how bad LLMs are at doing basically everything, save for compromising anonymity of people online.

Once I pay off my device, I will be calling it quits with T-Mobile because I want no part of a company messing with shit like this.
