Todos tenemos claro que el plástico que utilizamos a diario, un derivado del petróleo, es un grandísimo dolor de cabeza a la hora del cuidado del planeta.

Pues ha salido una noticia de que científicos del Center for Emergent Matter Science y la Universidad de Tokio, en Japón, han desarrollado un material que podría sustituir al plástico que usamos habitualmente.

Tiene la misma resistencia del que conocemos, no es tóxico, es resistente al fuego y, con un recubrimiento adecuado, podría utilizarse en los objetos y productos de los que normalmente nos servimos en el día a día.

Lo que lo hace diferente es que es un material biodegradable que, con unas 200 horas de contacto con el agua salada, se desintegra totalmente, sin liberar dióxido de carbono, y evitaría el problema de la generación de los microplásticos.

Está en fase de pruebas, pero pinta bien, y ojalá pronto sea una realidad en nuestras vidas.
