As much as I rate #ZenInternet as a ISP, talking to them about a slow connection and getting them to understand my health means I can't be unplugging things on my network and also I wouldn't be phoning them if was just a device on the network or something connected over wifi because that would be dumb is frustrating to say the least.
I thought I had a few spoons to play with today but they are all gone now, retreating back to the bedroom, but the engineer is coming out Friday. #spoonies #mecfs

So I left #ZenInternet after 8 pretty good years of service. Joined a local #Sheffield ISP: #PineMedia. Save £100+ a yr & get 2x the speed. Figured I'd just change the PPPoE user/pass, 15min downtime.

Result: I've been without internet access for 8hrs and tech support not replied for 3hrs #UK

Pretty tough for a web developer.

Had to phone #ZenInternet our broadband provider this morning to update our bank account. Spoke to Carol who didn't sound rushed or as if she was working from a script but understood the issue and just Did The Right Thing.

There's a reason why they are the UK's most recommended broadband provider. They ain't cheap but they are good.

Oh, and static IP too, both 4 and 6. Hurrah.

Some vaguely good news.
My fibre broadband is supplied by Lit Fibre via CityFibre.
Lit Fibre are transferring all their customers to Zen Internet.

While I've had no major issues with Lit, the support has been mediocre, and their supplied equipment is, frankly, pants.

Zen have an excellent reputation, so this might be a longer term relationship than I anticipated.

Something weird going on with my #zenInternet this morning. Bits and pieces of internet not working unless I turn WiFi off on my phone and switch to 4G.

Feels like a CDN/peering thing…

Anyone out there with #ZenInternet FTTP via #OpenReach having problems?

Mine went down at around 16:19 and I’m getting pppoe errors on the router (“unable to complete pppoe discovery phase 1”). Tried rebooting the ONT and router to no avail 😕
