'They titled their mural "The Catcher in the Rye" in reference to the book by Jerome David Salinger (1951).
The heart, the subject of many of their works, is at the center of the mural. The artists share these commonalities that punctuate their respective lives: emotion and passion. These feelings of deep love have always guided their actions, even to the point of losing their reason.
For SÌA, it was this phrase that her grandmother Françoise often repeated to her: "Your heart will be your downfall...", which made her realize that her entire life, her generosity, and her greatness of soul would take precedence over reasoned, but not passionate, choices, at the risk of losing herself.
For Zag, it was this same heart that he pierced one day, at the risk of losing his life, for lack of Love, 17 years ago to the day. This heart suspended in movement, like the pendulum of the clock, signifies for them that in this existential learning in relation to time, nothing is fixed and everything is perpetual (Text Zag & Sia). - translated from French
