3rd version of one of Düsseldorf's oldest murals.

The eye on Hellweg was first painted in 1980 by the local mural group. Due to damage to the wall and the installation of new thermal insulation, this is the third version. With each passing year, the eye has aged considerably." 1980, 1995, and 2010.

Otto Schily, who as a lawyer for the Red Army Faction (RAF) was subjected to surveillance and wiretapping at the time, has now taken on the role himself as Interior Minister and launched the massive wiretapping operation. Fittingly, the mural was unveiled on the 100th anniversary of George Orwell's birth."
