#Xebian looks like a nice desktop #Linux distro. I've always liked XFCE though for lightweight. This comment was written for me though 🙂

"The menu contains buttons for logging out, rebooting and so on, so there are no pointless panel buttons for these actions."

I always click the wrong panel spot looking for Shutdown.

Xebian is the Marie Kondo of Linux distros – it's here to declutter

Clean, simple, quick, and an example of how less can give you more

The Register

@cliffwade +1. I checked Linux and ChromeOS, but the more detailed breakdown is:

* #Kubuntu on main laptop
* #Lubuntu or #Xebian on lower-powered laptops
* #Debian or #ArchLinux 32 on 32-bit systems
* Various #Ubuntu flavors on testing laptops as part of development work
* #ChromeOS on my tablet
* Windows 2000 and Windows 98 in virtual machines
* Random odd operating systems in emulators sometimes (#ReactOS, #NetBSD, etc.)

If you like Xubuntu and Debian and cutting-edge rolling releases all at the same time, check out #Xebian. It's a Debian Sid derivative designed to feel and work like Xubuntu.

#linux #debian #xubuntu

@jacobw If you're just looking for something different (possibly sans Snap) but also want to still be somewhat familiar with the system, I'd try #Debian. The installer can be a bit tricky, but in my experience it's pretty well-made and nice to use. If you like rolling releases and danger and are a fan of XFCE, maybe #Xebian would be a good fit.
