Tim #W3IPA @[email protected] @w3ipa launched his first pico balloon for 2026. 10m WSPR transmits. Let’s hope for a nice long trip! #AmateurRadio #HamRadio #PicoBalloon #WSPR #10mWSPR

Going to order the parts for a pico #hamradio balloon. Has anyone tried the Traquito WSPR balloon kits? Apparently you just upload hardware files to a third party PCB manufacturing company! I'm going to try to build one (or probably two... any new project, always buy 2x parts).

Sometimes I feel disappointed that my hobbies are neither computer nor science enough. Tonight I decided to make this plot for band statistics from WSPR data.
I never really liked those solar charts, but this data is actually really informative. Running my station for a bit is the best, but I can also just query for my grid square (as I did for this plot) and it seems pretty accurate.
I had a bit of a deep dive with WSPR beacon work this weekend. I ran test on my own station, and got it band hopping.
It was great to see the results from my own station at different times, and also figuring out how to filter by my gridsquare on wspr.rocks for on demand current local conditions!
