📣 Just because you’re good at functioning while fractured doesn’t mean you should be expected to.
If your job praises your resilience but ignores your reality—it’s not a compliment.
It’s a red flag.

Just Because You Can Work Through Trauma Doesn’t Mean You Should Have To

Written By Cari Borden Why unhealthy expectations have become the norm in toxic workplaces, and how we break the cycle. There’s a dangerous myth quietly running many workplaces today: “They’re stro…

Lead With Your Heart
When bullying becomes a background constant, our brains get really good at rehearsing how to survive. Sometimes that looks like self-deprecating humor. Sometimes it looks like a total mental rehearsal for every cruel thing they might say. And sometimes? It becomes a performance. Because if we can say the awful stuff before they do, maybe it won’t hurt as much.

This comic explores a painful but real part of PTSD: internalized abuse. The voices of past tormentors don’t always fade—they set up camp, get comfortable, and start running their own little hate-radio show in your head. Even long after we’ve physically escaped harm, many of us still feel like we’re standing at that bus stop, bracing for the next blow.

But you’re not alone. These wounds are valid, your story is real, and recovery is a messy, non-linear journey. We hope this comic brings a little laugh, a little validation, and maybe even a little release. It’s okay if you’re not “over it.” That doesn’t make you weak. It means you survived something real.

Have you ever used humor as armor? Or practiced what you’d say to your bullies, even years later? Let us know below.

Implementing OKRs brings to light fascinating truths about organizations and how they operate: leader behavior (and coherence or incoherence of it); beliefs about accountability and ownership of both the responsibilities and benefits of labor; and in some cases, deeply held biases and even gaslighting become visible for everyone to see.

For the other two groups: if you're open to a more activist take on OKRs, I'm that writer.

I started working with OKRs a few years ago (personally) because of my need for an objectively quantifiable way to maintain my (relative) sanity working in environments where the goal posts were always moving.

Some welcome good news today in our call with the lawyer. A lot of things still up in the air. Hoping for a resolution in mediation next week (NEXT WEEK??!!) and to finally start getting our life back. This is the face of a woman who has been married almost 3 years and NEVER gotten to just... enjoy married life with her husband. #exhausted #soon #exhale #workplacetrauma

Is there a server or community for people who have experienced #workplacetrauma? 6 months ago, I finally left my shitty retail management job, an abusive work environment I stayed in for 5 years. I'm sure everyone I know IRL is tired of hearing about it, but I don't have a therapist and don't know how to work through all these experiences that still hurt. I worry about my friends that still work there, too.

Talking and commiserating with others who have been through bad job experiences is cathartic and helpful to me. I can never get enough of "tales from retail", "malicious compliance", and "fuck you I quit" stories, so if anyone would like to share theirs with me, please do!
