By Leith-based Studio Something @somethinggram and Thomas Payne @thomas_paints at Links View House, 26 Tolbooth Wynd, South Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland in May 2021. Photos taken May 2025 and thanks to the passerby who told me about this one.

The writing on the mural, ‘you’re all worth your room on this earth’ is an adapted lyric from iconic 1988 hit ‘Sunshine on Leith’ by The Proclaimers @theproclaimersofficial, who are from Leith.

"Lots of planning went into this piece that was commissioned by Studio Something as gift to their community...

Painted over four days up a scaffold with a two man crew of @peacesigns_ and @rossgstewart1 (with a cameo from @journeymansigns) using paint and brush." @thomas_paints May 3, 2021

Today I affixed a bird box to a wall, using appropriate exterior grade screws in red rawlplugs. I aligned the rawlplugs and pilot holes nicely. Felt satisfying. Had to go back up the ladder to get the drill back down. The great tits are getting active around Sheffield now. #allotment #sheffield #rawlpugs #ladder #workingatheight #6mmmasonrybit
Bank Holiday DIY: replacing the ancient Simpers pulleys with proper yacht pulleys (“blocks”) for the airer in the atrium. Ideally I’d have bought 2 swizzling ones but Mount Batten Boat House – in Plymouth at Easter – only had one. All very free running now! #WorkingAtHeight
