Hello #Fediverse, here’s today’s daily OS-tan!

This is Saba-tan, the personification of Windows Server 2003! Saba-tan is part fish, part girl and wears an ethernet hub on her head like a bonnet. Her name is a pun on "server" (サーバー, saabaa) and "mackerel" (鯖, saba), which is why she’s depicted as a fishy character.

She started as a one-off character dressed in a mackerel costume but as OS-tans became popular, she got a more defined look and became a regular in OS-tan stories.

@alex I thought it was a security measure added to #WindowsServer2003 to allow servers to better handle #DDOS attacks, automatically rejecting duplicate requests within a specific amount of time rather than spending server resources examining the requests themselves and determining how to handle them afterwards.
