An Israeli airstrike killed 3 journalists in Gaza on Wednesday, the territory's civil defense agency said. One of those killed, Abed Shaat, had worked for years as a cameraman for CBS News & other outlets.
Officials identified the other 2 journalists killed as Mohammed Salah Qashta & Anas Ghneim, the AFP reported.

An Israeli airstrike killed three journalists in Gaza on Wednesday, the territory's civil defense agency said. One of those killed, Abed Shaat, had worked for years as a cameraman for CBS News and other outlets.
The Israeli military said in a statement that #AnasAlSharif headed a #Hamas cell & "was responsible for advancing rocket attacks against Israeli civilians & IDF (Israeli) troops," citing intelligence & documents found in #Gaza as evidence. It has not made these public.
#Israel denies deliberately targeting #journalists. It claims many of those killed in Israeli airstrikes were members of Islamist militant groups, working under the guise of the #press.
#AnasAlSharif, 28, was among a group of four #AlJazeera #journalists & an assistant who died in an airstrike on a tent near Al Shifa Hospital in eastern #Gaza City, Gaza officials and Al Jazeera said. An official at the hospital said two other people were killed in the strike.
A sixth journalist, Mohammad Al-Khaldi, a local freelance reporter, was also killed in the strike, medics at Al Shifa Hospital said on Monday.
#AlJazeera, which is funded by the #Qatar govt, rejected the assertion, & before his death, Al Sharif had also rejected such claims by #Israel.
"#AnasAlSharif & his colleagues were among the last remaining voices in #Gaza conveying the tragic reality to the world," Al Jazeera said.
