#Reddit starts #verifying ages of users in the #UK
Yeah
I know nothing about Ko-fi but that was my next (only) thought: contact someone in tech support and see what they say
Good luck with it
Question: do you have direct read-write editorial control over that page?
IOW: can you edit the html yourself and save the result?
Thus: <a rel="me" href="https: ... ">Mastodon</a>
Even so, at my photography page on Smugmug - where I do have direct editorial control - even after I edited my landing page to add the html rel="me" tag it wouldn't work because Smugmug's html parsers edited the tag to remove the rel="me"
Executive summary: like many other things on #Mastodon, there's more technical details involved in #Verifying yourself than is immediately explained
can i just say that putting a
or
or whatever emoji next to your name has exactly one use case: when you are mocking how easy it is to do.
i can't believe the number of week-old accounts who insist on verifying as though 1) anybody cares or 2) it actually matters.
if you need to verify, post a fucking email address or phone number or pgp signature or literally any other actual verification metric.

Can't for the life of me figure out why the Wordpress on my profile isn't #verifying. I've tried placing the rel="me" anchor link in several places in my templates.
Anyone willing to offer advice?
#BecauseICan 😅 https://mas.to/@marekmcgann/109308418446994874Have just realised that #academics can use @[email protected] to #verify themselves. Just include your full mastodon link (like this: https://mas.to/@marekmcgann) in the "Websites and Social Links" section in ORCID, then include link to your ORCID record in your Mastodon profile. Hurray for distributed digital identities!
