I didn't realize these acquisitions had been taking place over 2025... and that Magix had filed for insolvency not too long beforehand and was owned by RM Equity Partners. Interesting stuff.

I noticed this in my inbox today (delivered on March 30). I've been using Audacity a lot lately, but I still have a copy of Sound Forge installed. I've been using Sound Forge for years, even when it was still a Sonic Foundry product. I have a bunch of BorisFX effects plugins too. If you're into music production, Sequoia is a great DAW to check out 🎶 BorisFX has really expanded 👀
The response to my ticket at #BorisFX regarding their website sending me into an infinite loop when I click "Sign Out" is:
"Could you give me more inforamtuon please." [sic]
I gave them my browser, operating system, and steps to reproduce (sort of).
What I expected to happen when I click "Sign Out" should be pretty obvious.
They didn't even bother to run a basic spell check when they responded to my ticket, and they didn't tell me what kind of information they needed to assist me.
If this is the "service level" to expect from the future maintainers of #VegasPro, I might have to start looking for a different #VideoEditing software.
Welp, #DavinciResolve can’t render to AV1 on a #MacBook Pro, and as we all know you can’t get them with actually-powerful GPUs like Nvidia or AMD, so that’s that app out of the running.
Given the fact that #FinalCutPro is a third as much again as #VegasPro for Windows (which is fully capable of rendering to any format via CPU or GPU) which I already own, I think this particular quest has come to an end.
Macs just aren’t built for this purpose. Damn shame as I love the screen on my MBP.
I'm going to stream Wolfenstein sometime in the next couple weeks, and decided to learn how to make a stinger transition in VEGAS Pro.

Mikakdenlive file with Kdenlive - it'll launch the app, but not the file with it. I'd have to launch the app and navigate/open the file from inside the app manually. Same with some other KDE apps like Kate too - not being able to launch a text file with it, from outside. Otherwise though, I'm surprised but very pleased that Kdenlive is a viable option not just on Linux (and possibly #Windows) but macOS too.
