#ububtu werkt fantastisch, wat ik wel mis is #onedrive functionaliteit. Heb gezocht naar een alternatief en dat is er ook wel. Er zijn prima betaalde open oplossingen. Ik heb gekozen om zelf een NAS thuis neer te zetten, gewoon weer in eigen huis.
In januari beëindig ik de #Microsoft 365 Abonnement. Als ik het goed draait, ga ik de andere computers in huis omzetten naar Ubuntu. #Libreoffice is nu mijn office pakket.

Interesant om te zien dat hoewel het gebruik van #Linux hard is gegroeid sinds de #SteamDeck, #SteamOS juist licht daalt en #Ububtu en #Arch gebaseerde distros groeien.

De mede door #Valve verbeterde ervaring voor #GamingOnLinux (door bijv. de development van Proton en klagen bij Nvidia voor betere drivers) lijkt op 1e blik goede invloed te hebben op Linux voor de desktop. Dat in tegenstelling tot het idee dat Linux puur statistisch groeit omdat men een Steam Deck koopt

#followerpower Hat jmd. eine Idee, warum eine OpenVPN Verbindung nach Update von Ubuntu 22.04 auf 24.04 nicht mehr läuft. Es ist eine VPN Verbindung mit Zertifikat und Passwort. Auf einem 22.04 System läuft noch alles wie gewohnt. Auf dem nach 24.04 geupgradeten System landet man in einer endlosen Passwort Loop. Ein log für den Verbindungsversuch o.ä. habe ich noch nicht gefunden. Irgendwelche Idee ? #ububtu #openvpn

Canonical's endgame has finally begun. Ubuntu, under Canonical's private control, is now offering a 'pro' product. I think the RHEL saga is going to repeat itself. Another open source project slowly bleeding to death at the hands of large corporations.

I made the #Windows transition to #Linux and took the #Ububtu route. My experience has been positive, with the greatest drawback being game support on #Steam.

Otherwise, it feels less bloated. Everything I use is on my taskbaar, and I never open the start menu. If I need to, it is sleek and clean.

I also just like the look and various tools that we can download.
With the opecomibg #POPos update coming out, I am currently creating a live boot disk to see what it is like, and then I might make the switch from Ubuntu to Popos.
