NABGNABG is hosting Dr. #Berhe, a renowned soil scientist and political ecologist as the closing keynote speaker at #NABG42. Dr. Berhe studies how #soil can combat climate change by storing carbon and reducing emissions. She leads the Office of Science at the U.S. Department of Energy. She also chairs the Earth Sciences and Geology department at #UCMerced.

It was really cool to see a packed house for our very first #philosophy and #literature event yesterday afternoon (had to add chairs!), with Robert Pippin providing an excellent lecture on our search for meaning in the arts, with a focus on film. Nigel Hatton, who organized the event, will be part of the new philosophy department at #UCMerced if that gets approved, and will be organizing more events on #LiteratureAndPhilosophy going forward.
