@alexadeswift @georgetakei there's are reasons #screens started getting used in "#DarkMode" and why only on #paper and #transflective settings "#BrightMode" makes sense.

IOW there are reasons we illuminate letters and not the entire house wall at night...

Unfortunately, the manufacturer Pixel Qi no longer seems to be available.
I found Mary Lou Jepsen's website and she seems to be taking on new challenges.

Do you know if there are any other manufacturers of #transflective displays?

I think it would be a perfect fit for a kind of cyberdeck like the #uConsole.

#transflective screens are (were) great!

I still have my XO-1 from the #OLPC program (give one, get one) and for a few years - not recently - it was my preferred laptop for the garden.

But I see #pixelQI didn't make it...
