In Melbourne we tend to disrespect our tram network.
It's the largest but also the slowest tram network in the world.

It's slow because as soon as trams get out of central Melbourne they have to share road space with cars and cars are slow.

We trade the massive capacity of a tram line for just a single car traffic lane and it's absurd.
