@Elizafox @notjustbikes OFC dedicaded routes are better and the only good excuse for #Trams is when you want to cover high volumes of commuters in a dense urban area with dedicaded lanes but can't demolish roads and install big stations but need to provide more capacity than you can serve with all the buses you have.
- That's why only big cities like #Köln and #Düsseldorf run #Tram networks and even they try to move them underground because surface traffic - notably cars - are the prime pain point for smooth operations. Don't as a #KVB employee about how many times they have assholes block intersections during a red light, preventing their bus or tram to drive...
And whilst I'd love to see the "Line O" linking Opladen with Deutz, everyone can agree that for those that need to take that trip end-to-end the RB48 & RE7 are superior alternatives in service and those that need to get on or off at one of the places that line stopped the Bus Line 250 will be sufficient.
