FlorianWhen I started the IC_Null channel the idea was to cover topics primarily about #cybersecurity, #hacking, #pentesting etc. from a #blind perspective. Blind as in #screenReader user, that is. But an overarching topic is showing off what jobs are (up to a point) doable for this demographic and where the obstacles are. Today's stream leans that way: we'll be looking at the premier #translation and #localization tool, Trados Studio. Supposedly they have upped their #accessibility as of late. I'll be the judge of that 💀

This is the first of a series of posts planned to explain the basics of segmentation management in various translation environment tools. I've chosen the two market leaders, #Trados and #memoQ, as examples because of their very different approaches to how to manage breaking text up into chunks for translation and localization processes.
Often users of "CAT tools" - and those who oppose their use - argue about the value of sentence-level text segmentation, with some preferring to break the text up at a paragraph level, especially where considerable restructuring is needed to make the #translation fit for purpose. So that's what I'm talking about first, because it also enables me to cover top-level concepts without getting bogged down in the awful regex and other details of good sentence segmentation (left for another day).

DeFrEnT Christopher Köbel__Lösung:__ C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\SelfCert.exe ausführen erzeugt ein Selbstzertifikat für Makrosignierung (gilt nur für eigenen PC). In Word via Entwickler-Tools > Visual Basic > im VB-Fenster das Makro anwählen, in Extras > Digitale Signatur… klicken. Via Entwickler-Tools > Makro-Sicherheit in Word nur "alle außer signierte" Makros blockieren. Fertig.

#TradosStudio (2019) #Trados crasht beim Start ("unzulässige Inhalte in der Normal.dotm"), nachdem ich in MS #Word ein VB #Makro in die Normal.dotm gespeichert habe (Word und das Makro funktionieren aber normal). 😒

Lance@☃️☃️☃️Whoaaaaaa fuck #trados ! The company has now shifted to a subscription model along with a permanent one-time buy in offer, but goddamn, these prices are EXPENSIVE.
After the usual installations of #memoQ and more recently #Cafetran Espresso, installing #Trados Studio 2022 was quite a shock. But not as much a shock as the subsequent #translation functionality tests....
