2/2 Simple things take a lot longer than one would think.

This morning it took me over 30 minutes to finish drafting an email to a business partner. I just needed to refine one small paragraph but it took time and care.

I know a lot of people hate timesheets, but this is why I have always kept personal timesheets for stuff I consider work - including unpaid carer work. I can then look at my day and instead of feeling that I have wasted my day and lost time, I can see that I have actually worked hard, but massively underestimated the time it takes to do things. Hopefully over time I will get better at time estimation!

#Planning, #TimeManagement, #TodoList and #TimeSheets are a pain (always imperfect, very easy to overdo, at which point the more you put effort and consistency into it, the more frustrating it is), but for years I had my tool which enables me to deal with these issues "in shovels", and all at once (and then also have a sort of shallow diary).
