這是這幾年來少數讓我真的感到焦慮、害怕的一部電影，是我心中真正的「恐怖片」，而且全程沒有妖魔鬼怪，甚至也沒有什麼血腥的鏡頭。
「還得是西班牙人」，這句話在我寫的影評中越來越常見，自《 #佈局》開始起，西班牙的電影、影集就強力吸引著我，就連很肥皂劇的狗血劇情到了西班牙人手上也能變成吸引人的佳作（不久前介紹的《 #億萬地堡》就是最近的一個案例）。
《該死的咖啡桌》不算長，但那壓迫感，讓我們夫妻倆只能分兩次看完，全片主要演員不到10人，拍攝成本肉眼可見的不高，但把 #契訶夫之槍 以及 #希區考克「 #桌下炸彈」都運用的恰到好處，張力滿滿。
要說什麼宗教隱喻，我看來是感受不強烈，但導演擺出「不怕碰宗教」這點倒是處處可見，主角夫妻叫María、Jesús，這還不明顯嗎😂

So I definitely can’t say I LIKED The Coffee Table. But I am impressed by its audacity. This incredibly bleak thriller-slash-dark comedy by Caye Casas doesn’t give a shit about your comfort level with its material. You can appreciate it, you can be repulsed by it or anything inbetween, but one way or another you’re going to be affected by it and that’s all it wants. David Pareja and Estefanía de los Santos give pitch-perfect performances with intensely difficult material, and the supporting cast is all quite good. But people are less likely to remember the performances than the material.
