@Taskerland @mrundkvist @vdonnut In turn, once the PCs overpowered local authorities they expected to be the arbiters of morality. OSR offered a framework with scarcity and vulnerability and stakes that actually forced decisions about a character's morals & ethics and dealt in the sauce of ideology vs practice. Tbf at that time I was looking at #TheBlackHack #Troika & #IntotheOdd which felt like an attempt at departure from Gygaxian proceduralism. And the modules i was seeing were just bananas

@platypus anders kann ich mir nicht erklären, warum es keine dt.-sprachigen Übersetzungen von extrem erfolgreichen #osr Spielen gibt - ich denke dabei an Titel wie #MörkBork oder #TheBlackHack Nur ein Bruchteil von international erfolgreichen (= viel gespielten) OSR Spielen liegt auf deutsch vor. Hier ist der Beitrag von @systemmatters gar nicht positiv genug hervorzuheben. Ohne den Verlag, gäbe es nicht 1 dt. spr. Old School #dnd Version im Handel 😱 2/x

🆕 OpenRPG.de stellt vor: The Black Hack

The Black Hack (TBH) ist ein traditionelles Tischrollenspiel, das mit Papier, Stiften und Würfeln gespielt wird - dazu benutzt es das ursprüngliche Fantasy-Rollenspiel der 1970er als Grundlage. Allerdings werden ein paar Elemente hinzugefügt und andere weggelassen; dadurch entsteht eine eigene, elegante Variante des originalen Rollenspiels.

@Mondgesicht @fedieltern großartig 👏 Ich spiele mit meinem Kind (9) auch regelmäßigen #pnpde Heute kommt sein DnD Club „Red Demons of Fire“ 😂 vorbei. Was ich gelernt habe: Es gibt zwar viele (auch ein paar gute) Kinderrollenspiele, aber m.E. nach lieben Kinder es, wenn sie die Spiele der sog. Erwachsenen spielen können. Was hervorragend klappt: old school #dnd Varianten und moderne Hacks, wie #Mausritter oder #TheBlackHack 1/3

Continued running an #osr game for 8-9 years old kids this afternoon after work.

Me: I‘ve prepared a 5 room dungeon full of puzzles and sense of wonder 🦄 🪄

Kids (munching on cinnamon rolls): Discussing how to kill the king, seize the power in the realm, recruiting mercenaries, and build a stronghold, BEFORE the game has even started 😶

Basically a hack of #TheBlackHack with additional aspects borrowed from games like Mothership, Troika and Lotfp: Five stats, including Luck 🍀 as a finite resource that can be traded for re-rolls, „roll under“ mechanics, Five Classes: cutthroat, soldier, plague doctor, swashbuckler, illusionist. No magic system, but a few spell-like abilities, rules for reputation, usage dice 🎲 for abstract take on resource management, alas: bare bones regarding gm tools
