Chao-c'Běžné automobilové elektromotory dosahují poměru výkonu k hmotnosti 2 až 4 kW/kg. Vědci z institutu Fraunhofer IISB však tuto hodnotu výrazně překonali. Nový letecký synchronní motor s permanentními magnety dosahuje až 8 kW/kg.
Při váze 94 kilogramů dokáže vyvinout výkon 750 kilowattů (tedy zhruba 1000 koní) a má krouticí moment 350 Nm, což přibližně odpovídá síle menšího turbovrtulového motoru. Agregát je dlouhý pouhých 60 centimetrů a jeho průměr činí 25 centimetrů.
