A partire al momento con la nazionale di calcio iraniana sono stati soltanto i 22 giocatori più lo staff tecnico: nessun membro della delegazione è presente. L’Iran è partito per la Turchia per disputare un’amichevole di preparazione in vista dei Mondiali di quest’estate prima di volare negli Stati Uniti, uno dei tre paesi insieme a Canada e Messico in cui si giocherà il torneo. Il gruppo è partito ieri mattina con un volo diretto ad Antalya, ma c’è anche un aspetto non sportivo che riguarda il viaggio.
I giocatori dovrebbero anche sfruttare il loro soggiorno per completare la procedura di richiesta del visto per gli Stati Uniti, visto il conflitto in corso tra Teheran e Washington. Al momento, nessun membro della delegazione iraniana, giocatori o staff, ha ottenuto il permesso di entrare nel Paese. Ma se per calciatori e staff non dovrebbero esserci problemi, la questione riguarda soprattutto la parte dirigenziale della delegazione.

The Iranian national football team has arrived in Turkey, where it will play a friendly against Gambia and where it will try to complete the procedures for the 2026 World Cup visa, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The 22 players and the technical staff of the “Team Melli” delegation have landed in the Turkish resort town of Antalya. The players will remain in Turkey for several weeks before departing for the tournament.

Currently, no member of the Iranian delegation, players or staff, has been granted permission to enter the country. However, there should not be any problems for the players and the staff, the issue mainly concerns the managerial side of the delegation.
