One is reminded of the #StargateSG1 episode #Tangent .

@pink_doublethink I liked Logseq but as a block-based outliner I wouldn’t consider it a replacement for Obsidian, and it’s in an odd place developmentally right now.
If Obsidian disappeared, I’d consider the following, which all use plaintext files in system folders:
- #Zettlr I’ve tried this and it’s quite good. Open source with a committed, responsive, personable dev. Definitely worth trying.
- #Tangent Notes
- VS Code/Codium with the Foam plugin

Hype for the Future 9B: Verfunctions in Trigonometry
The graph attached below showcases eight distinct and antiquated trigonometric functions regarding "versed" functions. Haversine in particular has historically been of importance in navigation, sailing, and perhaps even in communities such as fishing and whaling as well. From top to bottom, the functions listed in the legend correspond with the versine, vercosine, coversine, covercosine, haversine, havercosine, hacoversine, and hacovercosine, respectively.https://novatopflex.wordpress.com/2025/11/09/hype-for-the-future-9b-verfunctions-in-trigonometry/
And so, here are four functions to demonstrate it. The default resolution of the plotting routine is crude, leading to #Aliasing and so the mesh has to be refined somewhat.
Here are three #ConicSections and one #Trigonometric functions.

In geometry, the tangent line to a plane curve at a given point is, intuitively, the straight line that "just touches" the curve at that point. Leibniz defined it as the line through a pair of infinitely close points on the curve. More precisely, a straight line is tangent to the curve y = f at a point x = c if the line passes through the point on the curve and has slope f', where f' is the derivative of f. Wikipedia
