@bgarfoot if I can have only one, then it must do everything.

The IC-705 never appealed to me but the #ftx1 does.

If I can bring along an HT, then I would opt for the #lab599 #tx500 because of its ruggedness, and it being light weight and having a very low RX current draw.

If I want to go realy light weight, I grab the #qrplabs #qmx. Very high quality radio for small a price.

@arth sound quality is one reason to use a different mic, size is another. When out an about in the big blue shack, I prefere to use headphones. So I do not have a need for the stock speaker mic of my #lab500 #tx500. Instead I use the one from Tüfteln: https://tufteln.com/products/lab599-tx500-audio-breakout-board-with-microphone. Less weight and less bulk. Especially important when rucksack portable.

Апнул TX500 до прошивки v1.23.05. Несмотря на то, что исправлены ошибки, с которыми должен был сталкиваться, я их не замечал. Всё-таки хорошо аппарат сделан.

Обновил прошивку чтобы не столкнуться с ошибками в дальнейшем.

Добавили бы точность времени и синхронизацию по 4995 или 9995 кГц (второе предпочтительнее) - цены бы не было. :)

Ящик Deco 41x21,5x18,5 вполне подходит катать Discovery TX-500. Под трансивером на дне бумаги на тему позывного и тд (мало ли).

Не идеально, но в бумажной коробке не лучше. :)

Цена вопроса 1300-1400 примерно.

Quick stop at K-1970 in OH for some #CW #POTA fun with the #TX500 for 15 QSOs in 20 minutes on 20m with my full kit now including the throw line and reusable bags for a throw weight.

#CW #POTA activation with the #TX500 and a 20m EFHW. 10w working! Antenna pulled straight up into a tree with the 49:1 a few feet above the Jeep roof.

CW #POTA activation # 2 is in the books! #TX500 this time at 10w for 29 QSOs mostly on 40m with my Linked EFHW 20/40. Even had a P2P with @N4JAW! Had to call QRT when the WX was up to 90DegF.

Activation at Ft Yargo ST Park in GA. Half 40m, half 20m. 35 SSB and 4 CW. Bumped up from 10W to 40W with the Micro PA50. A bit of rain so the #TX500 gave me some peace of mind.
