Connect the FTX-1 to the iPad with a USB-C data cable.
When connecting for the first time, select the device profile headphones on the iOS device.
On the FTX-1:
• Go to FUNC page 1 → set VOX = ON
• Go to FUNC page 3 → OPERATION SETTING → TX GNRL → VOX SELECT → choose USB
All other settings remain at default.
When transmitting, use the iOS volume control to adjust the ALC level.

🇬🇧 Radio amateurs - let's assume I have an Yaesu FTX-1 on my desk and want to record a video - what questions would you have?
@bgarfoot if I can have only one, then it must do everything.
The IC-705 never appealed to me but the #ftx1 does.
If I can bring along an HT, then I would opt for the #lab599 #tx500 because of its ruggedness, and it being light weight and having a very low RX current draw.
If I want to go realy light weight, I grab the #qrplabs #qmx. Very high quality radio for small a price.
@qrper many thanks for your well reaoned explanation for canceling your #ftx1 preorder.
There is so much noise of "uh, it is expensive", "uh, it is heavy", "it can not do X", "that other radio can do this cheaper", all said from a very narrow perspective.
It is a joy to read such clarity with a well defined context.
