When I come home and my phone connects to the wifi that my Linux (Gnome) PC is also connected to, I would like all my new photos to be automatically sent from my phone to my PC.
I would like this to happen without:
- sending the photos via any third party on the internet
- using any proprietary apps
- having to set up Syncthing or anything similarly difficult
Is this even possible? If not, what's the second best alternative?
Thank you!
Just read sbds post that he dropped #nextcloud because of it growing to complex for his needs.
That‘s really what I feel too. What I need is #syncing files, nothing more.
I‘m thinking of alternatives like @syncthing or Copyparty.
Which else do you know?

As always, there’s nothing you can do when Apple’s photo syncing breaks again. These photos were taken a few days ago and they seem to be impossibly har for iOS to upload. Why can’t Apple do network services reliably when just about everyone else has cracked this? Is iCloud so crap that even Apple’s superdevelopers can build reliable stuff on top of it? Been shit for, well, ever. Maybe a reboot helps?
