Oh man, I forgot how much I love this record.

This was Surf Curse’s first album, which was originally released in cassette only in 2013.

They were only teenagers, and SEVEN YEARS LATER, received attention via Tik Tok (gross) for the song “Freaks”, which appears here.

Since I’ve never been on Tik Tok in my life (because I’m not an asshole), I discovered this awesome record from an indie clearance bin for $10.

Awesome, scruffy #surf #punk tunes that are super catchy. And I guess I have another kind of affection for this record too, as it was recorded at The Smell in Los Angeles, a place where I have performed in the past a few times myself.

Since this first album, they’ve made three more fantastic records that are also worth checking out.
