The Subplot Character

The Subplot project has just released version 0.13.0 of its tool for documenting acceptance criteria and how they are verified.

For my year-end project, I promised @hko that I'd look at using #Subplot to generate a program to verify that an implementation of the Stateless OpenPGP interface meets its requirements. I'll start by re-reading the specification.

As I use #Subplot, I realize it can be important to be specific and careful about what one requires. Often it's easier to specify a "proxy requirement" rather than the thing one actually needs, but this can lead people astray. Example: it's hard to automate verification of "encrypts data strongly", but "encryption is not ROT13" is easy, so you make that the requirement. However, then almost any encryption implementation passes tests, can if it's ROT26.

I've just published release 0.11.0 of #Subplot, the tool for documenting acceptance criteria and how to verify they are met.

Subplot is a project by me and @kinnison that we work in our free time.

Subplot 0.10.0 released

I really enjoy collaborating on #Subplot and a super-secret hobby project with @kinnison , who is a wise, experienced, and kind person.
#Subplot is a tool for documenting acceptance criteria and how they are verified. We want to use clear terminology. We've reached an internal consensus, posted in a thread below, and would like to hear what others think.

I've managed to use my super secret hobby project (Ambient) to do a thing to help my other hobby project (Subplot) move forward. This is dangerously similar to progress. If I keep this up, I'm going to have to make the secret one public and then everyone will know what it is. What good can come of that?
