Why do I write?
Because writing is thinking made visible. Because these words should exist.

I write because I lost someone & I'm grieving. Because I'm heartbroken & healing. Because it's the deathversary of 2 of my cats & 1 of the lizards!

I write because my hypnotist isn't available & I needed to guide myself through the pain. Because my (love) life coach asked "was it true love or a trauma bond?" and I'm still figuring out the answer.

I write because I'm tired of crying. Because I'm a creative & this is how I metabolize what hurts.

Kafka said a book must be "the axe for the frozen sea within us." I'm not chasing immortality. I'm breaking the ice.

Maybe someone's having a shit day & my words help them breathe. Maybe an introvert feels less lonely because I named their experience.

Simone Weil said attention is the rarest form of generosity. Arthur Ashe said do what you can, where you are, with what you have.

Right now, I might be shaping someone's thoughts.
So I keep writing.
