Not saying we want the lights to go out… but we are absolutely ready to outlast it in comfort. Locals are taking bets on how many days without electicity. They are saying 7 days. I am thinking 5 days. Stay safe, stay warm, and remember: preparation is just anxiety with better equipment + alcohol and books.
(And, no, this isn't staying in the carport.... it has already been moved to it's "housing unit".)

Nevar23#Today I learned that mason jars are not good for freezing water. 😅 I feel like I really should've known that, but I got focused on filling ALL THE THINGS with water/ice to try to keep my fridge/freezer going a bit longer when the power goes out.
The jar has big old cracks in it but is holding for the moment. Soon as it thaws it's gonna be a mess though.
