Il Fatto Quotidiano: Nuovo incidente sul lavoro all’Ilva (nelle mani dello Stato). I sindacati: “L’azienda non ci ha neanche avvisati”

Un operaio ferito e zero informazioni ai rappresentanti dei lavoratori, nonostante l’azienda sia in amministrazione straordinaria, cioè formalmente nelle mani dello Stato. L’ultimo incidente sul lavoro all’interno dell’Ilva di Taranto ha provocato le proteste dei sindacati per il silenzio della struttura dirigenziale dopo il ferimento di un dipendente di una ditta in appalto, nella notte tra martedì e mercoledì.
La vittima dell’infortunio sul lavoro è un operaio di 46 anni, dipendente della Semat, in servizio nel reparto manutenzione degli altiforni. Stando alle prime ricostruzioni, durante le operazioni nell’area del campo di colata dell’Afo2, il lavoratore sarebbe stato colpito con forza alla coscia da una catena.
Soccorso immediatamente, è stato trasportato prima presso l’infermeria interna al sito industriale e successivamente all’ospedale Santissima Annunziata, dove è ricoverato per ulteriori controlli. Le sue condizioni, secondo quanto emerso, non destano preoccupazione. Dell’episodio è stato informato anche lo Spesal, che avvierà le verifiche di competenza.
Per ore, invece, nulla è stato comunicato ai sindacati. Così mercoledì mattina Fim, Fiom, Uilm e Usb hanno diffuso una nota congiunta per protestare – e minacciare altre iniziative – contro l’atteggiamento di Acciaierie d’Italia, in amministrazione straordinaria e quindi guidata da tre commissari scelti dal governo. I sindacati hanno espresso “forti preoccupazioni e indignazione” per l’incidente, del quale hanno “appreso in maniera informale e non attraverso i canali aziendali”.
I sindacati definiscono “inaccettabile” che “un evento di tale gravità non sia stato tempestivamente comunicato alle organizzazioni sindacali e alle sigle sindacali, in palese violazione dei principi di trasparenza e degli obblighi in materia di salute e sicurezza sul lavoro”.
Da qui la richiesta ad Acciaierie d’Italia di essere convocati “con urgenza” per “avere dettagli sull’accaduto comprensiva della dinamica dell’infortunio”. In assenza “di un riscontro concreto e tempestivo”, le organizzazioni sindacali si riservano “di intraprendere tutte le azioni necessarie a tutela dei lavoratori, nelle sedi opportune”.

The victim of the workplace accident is a 46-year-old worker, employed by Semat, working in the maintenance department of the blast furnaces. According to the initial reconstructions, during operations in the area of the Afo2 pouring field, the worker was struck forcefully to the thigh by a chain.

Immediately rescued, he was first transported to the internal infirmary on the industrial site and subsequently to the Santissima Annunziata Hospital, where he is hospitalized for further checks. His condition, according to what emerged, is not worrying. The Spesal was also informed of the incident, which will launch the necessary checks.

Instead, nothing was communicated to the unions for hours. So, Wednesday morning Fim, Fiom, Uilm and Usb issued a joint statement to protest – and threaten further initiatives – against the attitude of Acciaierie d’Italia, in extraordinary administration and therefore guided by three commissioners chosen by the government. The unions expressed “strong concerns and indignation” over the accident, of which they learned “informally and not through company channels.”

The unions describe it as “unacceptable” that “an event of such gravity was not promptly communicated to the trade unions and trade union organizations, in blatant violation of the principles of transparency and obligations relating to health and safety at work.”

Hence the request to Acciaierie d’Italia to be urgently summoned to “have details about what happened, including the dynamics of the injury.” In the absence “of a concrete and timely response,” the trade unions reserve the “right to take all necessary actions to protect the workers, in the appropriate instances.”

Ancora una morte sul lavoro, ancora nella zona di Taranto. Aveva 38 anni e si chiamava Roberto di Ponzio l’operaio morto questa mattina mentre lavorava nel cimitero di San Brunone a Taranto, nel quartiere Tamburi. Sarebbe stato colpito da un palo. Sul posto sono intervenuti i carabinieri, lo Spesal e il personale del 118. Nella stessa città, nel giro di pochi mesi, negli stabilimenti dell’ex Ilva, erano morti due operai.
Secondo le prime ricostruzioni l’uomo stava lavorando su una gru, per i lavori all’impianti di illuminazione pubblica, quando forse a causa del forte vento, un palo è caduto all’improvviso e lo ha colpito in pieno. Il 38enne è morto sul colpo, i soccorritori non hanno potuto fare altro che constatare il decesso. La vittima era dipendente di una ditta. La zona dove erano in corso i lavori era al centro di un intervento di riqualificazione con una creazione di un’ampia area di verde pubblico.
Sul posto dell’incidente è intervenuto anche il pubblico ministero di turno, Raffaele Casto. A inizio marzo, il 36enne Loris Costantino, dipendente di una ditta di pulizie, era precipitato da un’altezza di circa venti metri nell’area della linea E dell’agglomerato ex Ilva. Era morto dopo il trasferimento all’Ospedale Santissima Annunziata. A gennaio era morto Claudio Salamida, 46 anni, in servizio all’acciaieria 2 dello stabilimento, precipitato anche lui da diversi metri mentre era impegnato nelle attività di controllo delle valvole.
Secondo gli ultimi dati, diffusi pochi giorni da, dall’Inail a febbraio 2026 sono aumentati gli incidenti sul lavoro (+2,4%) e gli infortuni in itinere (+8,5%) mentre sono calati i decessi (-27,8%). Le denunce di infortunio entro il mese di febbraio 2026 sono state 63.112, in aumento del 2,4% rispetto alle 61.641 del pari periodo 2025 e dello 0,9% sul 2023, e in diminuzione del 3,0% rispetto al 2024, del 38,8% sul 2022, del 9,5% sul 2021, dell’8,1% sul 2020 e dell’11,2% sul 2019. L’analisi ha evidenziato un aumento delle denunce al Sud (+20,5%), nel Nord-Est (+19,4%), nel Nord-Ovest (+7,7%), stabilità nelle Isole e un calo al Centro (-6,2%).

Un’altra morte sul lavoro, questa volta nella zona industriale di Modugno, alle porte di Bari. Un operaio di 30 anni, originario di Andria, ha perso la vita sabato mattina dopo essere precipitato dal tetto di un capannone industriale su cui stava lavorando. Secondo le prime informazioni, l’uomo si trovava sul terrazzo della struttura, probabilmente su una superficie non portante, quando ha perso l’equilibrio ed è caduto nel vuoto da un’altezza di circa sei metri. L’impatto non gli ha lasciato scampo: il decesso sarebbe avvenuto sul colpo.
Sul luogo dell’incidente sono intervenuti gli ispettori dello Spesal dell’Area Metropolitana della Asl di Bari, incaricati come organo tecnico di supporto all’autorità giudiziaria. Gli accertamenti sono in corso per chiarire con precisione la dinamica dei fatti, verificare le condizioni di sicurezza del cantiere e stabilire eventuali responsabilità. L’attenzione degli investigatori si concentra in particolare sulla natura della superficie su cui il lavoratore stava operando e sul rispetto delle misure di prevenzione previste per lavori in quota. Sull’episodio la Procura di Trani ha aperto un’inchiesta per omicidio colposo, con l’obiettivo di chiarire responsabilità e dinamica dell’accaduto.

Sono dieci le persone indagate per la morte di Loris Costantino, il 36enne operaio della ditta d’appalto Gea Power, precipitato lunedì mattina da oltre dieci metri mentre puliva un nastro trasportatore nella linea E dello stabilimento siderurgico ex Ilva di Taranto. L’operaio è morto dopo avere calpestato una griglia letteralmente marcia e il piano di calpestio, vetusto, ha ceduto (qui i dettagli).
Gli avvisi di garanzia sono stati firmati dal pm Marco Colascilla Narducci, che coordina le indagini dello Spesal e dei carabinieri del Nil per chiarire dinamica e responsabilità dell’incidente. Tra gli indagati per omicidio colposo figurano sei dirigenti e responsabili di Acciaierie d’Italia, tra cui il direttore generale Maurizio Saitta, il direttore dello stabilimento Benedetto Valli, il capo area agglomerato Giovanni Cellamare, il capo reparto Salvatore Sperto e i tecnici Cosimo Pace e Fabio Franciosa. Per la ditta di pulizie Gea Power sono indagati Gabriele Dell’Anna, Fabio Pagliari, Gino Pierri ed Enrico Pozzessere. Saitta e Valli risultavano già indagati – insieme ad altre 15 persone – per omicidio colposo in concorso per il decesso di un altro operario: Claudio Salamida, operaio di 46 anni originario di Alberobello e residente a Putignano, morto il 12 gennaio scorso dopo essere precipitato durante un controllo delle valvole.
Il pm ha disposto che l’autopsia sarà eseguita dal medico legale Davide Ferorelli il prossimo 6 marzo, giorno in cui sarà conferito l’incarico. L’esame si svolgerà nell’obitorio dell’ospedale SS. Annunziata di Taranto, dove la salma è custodita, considerato necessario per la partecipazione agli accertamenti irripetibili e per fare piena luce sulle cause della tragedia. Le indagini, coordinate tra Procura, Spesal e carabinieri del Nil, mirano a ricostruire con precisione le responsabilità, verificando eventuali violazioni delle norme sulla sicurezza sul lavoro e della vigilanza sugli impianti.

L’operaio si chiamava Loris Costantino, aveva 26 anni e la caduta da un altezza di circa dieci metri gli è stata fatale a causa delle gravi ferite riportate: lesioni al torace e ad un braccio.
Secondo quanto riferito da fonti sindacali, la vittima è stata subito soccorsa. Il giovane è stato trasportato in ambulanza all’ospedale Santissima Annunziata.
