Why did the bird cross the snowy road? #snow #joke #snowpic

The roads are slippery today, so the one hour (to & fro) walk to our village shop was a slow, careful process, which didn't encourage looking at the snowy vistas while walking. So this pic I took in my garden earlier must do. I'd also kneaded a batch of dough before I left. On my return I turned that into cheesy bread sticks; for the freezer, alas.

(I spread blitzed anchovies, gochujang, honey & fermented soy beans over the dough before adding the cheese.)

Technically, both these are cat pics.
The first I took after topping up one of the bird feeders; the second is from an hour ago, when I had to go to the gate to collect more bird feed from a courier.
In both cases the cat followed me outside, and both times he was equally unimpressed with my performance (since they weren't cat-centred.)

It was almost fully dark when I took that second pic (without a flash.) No idea why the colours are the way they are, but it's pretty.
