Apparently @bagder 's super power is to annoy preachy geeks who know some C by publishing a reasonable helper function to cure a decades long wart in the language ecosystem. I've seen so many angry and dismissive comments about that function that I'm really glad Daniel does that kind of thing. He lures the nonconstructive people away from bothering those who have less thin skin and prevent them from making the world better.
